16-year old kills his parents! What went so wrong?

Have you read about the 16-year old who killed his parents for taking away his IPod?

From what I've read, no one saw it coming.  Here is a child on the honor roll, no criminal background.  What made him leave school early, pepper spray his mother, stab her in the eyes and then beat both her and his father with a crowbar?

Excellent Read...

I receive this email every morning and found this to be an excellent read for today!

Good Morning!

Isaiah 49:24-26
24 Who can snatch the plunder of war from the hands of a warrior? Who can demand that a tyrant let his captives go? 25 But the Lord says, "The captives of warriors will be released, and the plunder of tyrants will be retrieved. For I will fight those who fight you, and I will save your children. 26 I will feed your enemies with their own flesh. They will be drunk with rivers of their own blood. All the world will know that I, the Lord, am your Savior and Redeemer, the Mighty One of Israel."
Holy Bible, New Living Translation, (Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.) 1996.

It is important to remember that we are not at war with flesh and blood. Ephesians 6:12 tells us, "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."  As a child of God, we are in a spiritual battle, sometimes for our own understanding and sometimes for the understanding of those in darkness. For our loved ones living in darkness, the words of Isaiah apply, they will be set free. God tells us that He will fight for those that we fight for and God will save our children. To penetrate the minds of those who live in darkness, we need to expose them to the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  We need to reach beyond the level of their flesh and blood and go into the battle where it is. And the battle is in the their minds and while they are in darkness, the best way to reach them is on this battlefield. We pick up our sword and fight the enemy with his own weapons and bind those in darkness to light of Christ. We continue to fight until they are no longer in darkness but living in the light of the love of God. All our prayers have a cumulative impact, for our prayers which are according to the will of God are NEVER without effect. So claim the promises of God and continue to fight for those you love who are in darkness and NEVER give up, for God will save your children!

Have a God Day!

It's Wednesday! Hump Day for most of us!

Hello!

Hopefully you've perused over the page but if you haven't that's just fine.  It's Wednesday and I've worked, taken my child to the doctor and come home.  I still have the usual straightening up to do, I have to pack breakfast and lunch for tomorrow.  I've spent some time with my daughter, just a little bit, really, but it was time, nonetheless.

Invite someone to check out this page.  Write about your day or ask a question.

I've finally made a picture and there's a poll that we can discuss the results of later.

I can't wait to read all that is shared!

This is New!

Hi!  I am absolutely new to this and am so looking forward to the interaction that occurs here.  I will post a picture soon for a better feel but let me take this time to tell you about this blog.

The title of this blog embodies what the blog is all about.  Sa'Divrent is a blog for those who are:

SAVED
DIVORCED and,
SINGLE PARENTS

People who can describe themselves as Saved, Divorced and Single Parents can sometimes feel very alone in the world.  We have God on our side.  We do our best to serve our God and God has and continues to be very present Help.  We are Single Parents and doing everything in our power (with God's help) to take care of, nurture and raise our children.  We are also Divorced and dealing with the effects of being in this position.  We handle the home and manage the bills all while wearing 2 or at least, 1 1/2 hats.

This blog is a place where you can voice your concerns, ask questions, share resources and tips that help you.  Ask for prayer, ask for an ear, ask for advice.  You have a voice that doesn't have to be ignored.  Please understand that nothing and no one takes the place of God.  Jesus died for us that we may have free access to the throne of grace.  This blog is NOT a substitute for the closest relationship that you should have.  This blog only serves as a place to commune and fellowship.

My prayer is that as we embark on this journey together that we all grow in our walk with God as we learn from one another.  My prayer is that stress will be completely erased as every hindering weight is exposed, dealt with and resolved.  I pray that as we find relief that our children will prosper and grow in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus and become successful in Him.

God's blessings upon you and all of your household!

Enjoy and Write Often!
